Deckers Outdoor Corporation, including its global subsidiaries Deckers Consumer Direct Corporation, Deckers Outdoor Canada ULC, Deckers Europe Limited, Deckers Japan GK, and Deckers Footwear (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. (hereinafter “we,” “us,” “our,” or “Deckers”), represents the UGG®, HOKA®, Teva®, Sanuk®, Koolaburra by UGG®, and Ahnu® brands for e-commerce. Deckers recognizes that privacy is important. Below is our Cookie Policy. It explains, in general, what cookies are, which cookies are used and for what purposes on this website and our other websites (collectively, the “Site”).
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies (or similar tracking technologies designed for mobile devices) are simple text files stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit certain web pages. A cookie records basic information about your visit, such as your user settings or which pages you have viewed. The Site (and potentially other websites) can then recognize this information in the future and use it to improve your overall experience, for example by remembering your login details, your preferences or even recommending certain content.
We use both first-party and third-party cookies. First-party cookies are placed on your device directly from our Site. Third-party cookies are placed on your device by our selected partners and service providers. We use third-party cookies, for example, to measure the number of users on the Site and to provide advertising relevant to content that you are interested in.
There are four main types of cookies, which perform different functions. The main types are:
- Essential Cookies
These cookies are essential for the functioning of the Site and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will then not work. We use and store these cookies for the duration of your visit to the Site. - Analytical cookies
These cookies collect information about how you use a website in order to improve its effectiveness. They track information about which parts of the website you visit, which links you click, and any errors you experience. Analytical cookies are commonly used to ensure that popular content is displayed in prominent positions on a website, so that users can find the information they are looking for more quickly. We use and store these cookies for a maximum of fourteen (14) months. - Personalization Cookies
These cookies are used to provide specific features or functions on a website and to measure how you access and use the site, so we can improve its performance. The most common use of personalization cookies is to remember your preference settings or to store your login details to personalize your visit. For example, personalization cookies save you the trouble of typing in your username each time you access the Site. We use and store these cookies for a maximum of fourteen (14) months. - Targeted advertising and social media cookies
Targeted advertising and social media cookies may be placed by us or our advertisers to store information on the web pages you have viewed. This allows us and our advertisers to display advertisements for content that is of interest to you. These advertisements may appear on our Site or on other sites you visit. Social media cookies are also used to operate “Like” or “Share” buttons, which users can click to let other people know that they have found a particular web page useful or entertaining. Other sites (typically social networking sites) will then be able to recognise these cookies and display the content you have shared with them. Targeted advertising and social media cookies can track your browser across other sites and build a profile of your interests. We use and store these cookies for up to fourteen (14) months.
Consent to the use of cookies and change settings
We will ask for your consent (via opt-in or opt-out depending on local legal requirements) to place cookies or other similar technologies on your device, except where they are essential to provide a service you have requested (for example, Essential Cookies described above).
You may withdraw your consent to the use of cookies or manage any other cookie preferences as described below.
FOR WHAT PURPOSE ARE COOKIES USED?
When you use our websites, we collect personal information about you over time and across different websites. Cookies are primarily used to:
- Remember the products you have saved in your shopping cart in case you want to return to purchase them at a later date or if you move from one page to another on one of our websites.
- Identify you when you log in to one of our websites, thereby enabling us to provide personalized features and services, such as adding items to your wish list.
- Conduct research and surveys to improve content, products and services offered.
- Prevent fraudulent activity.
- Improve security.
- Make it easier for you to navigate our websites and services, providing a more personalized experience.
We also use automated technologies such as Google Analytics to evaluate the use of the Site and to help us improve the Site and our services. Companies such as Google Analytics use cookies and other tracking technologies to provide their services. You can opt out of Google Analytics by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/ . For more information about how we use third-party analytics technologies, please see our Privacy Policy available here .
The information obtained from the use of cookies may contain your personal data, but only if you provide it voluntarily (for example, by entering your email address in a subscription box) or if you request services. We will process your personal data for mandatory cookies based on our legitimate interests. For functional and marketing cookies, we will process your personal data based on your consent. For more information about our privacy practices and policies, please see our Privacy Policy here .
To order products on our sites in the EU, UK or Japan, you need to have essential Cookies enabled. If you do not want cookies enabled, you can still browse the Site and use it for research purposes, but you will not be able to make purchases.
About Third Party Advertising and Tracking
We use third parties such as network advertisers and social media platforms to assist us in our promotion, including advertising on other sites and through social media platforms, and we may also use them to assist us in identifying relevant advertisements on our Sites. Network advertisers are third parties that serve advertisements based on your visits to our Site and other websites. This allows us and these third parties to target advertising to you, showing you products and services that are likely to be of interest to you. Network advertisers, advertisers, sponsors and/or traffic measurement services may use cookies, JavaScript, tracking pixels, web beacons (including clear GIFs), Flash LSOs and other technologies to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize their advertising content. We may provide these third-party advertisers with information about your use of our Site and Services, which may include pages viewed, products purchased, your device's IP address, browser type, email addresses (if encoded or otherwise pseudonymized), and other pseudonymous user- and device-level information, as well as aggregated or non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our Site and users of our Services.
We may also use platforms provided by companies like Meta and Twitter to serve ads that are relevant to you. These platforms allow us to personalize the advertising presented to you through their services. We may use a tracking pixel to do this. We may convert your email address into a unique value that partner companies can match with a user on their platform to allow us to serve ads that are relevant to those matching users. Many of these platforms allow you to opt out or limit the display of these ads. For information about this, check your account settings and the information provided by these services.
HOW TO MANAGE COOKIES
You can see which cookies are present on the Site and set and change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking on the “Cookie Preferences” tool available at the bottom of each of our websites. A pop-up window will appear and you will be able to change and save your preferences.
Additionally, most modern browsers allow you to:
- view existing cookies and delete them;
- receive a warning when a cookie is sent;
- block third-party cookies;
- block cookies from particular sites;
- block all cookies; or
- delete all cookies when you close your browser.
Most browsers are initially configured to accept cookies. You can reset your web browser to refuse all or some cookies, or to indicate when you receive a cookie, but deleting or disabling cookies may mean that some features of the site or services will not be available. You can check the specific steps in your browser's help menu.
We also have relationships with carefully selected and monitored third-party vendors who may also set cookies during your visit to be used for remarketing purposes. Many of these third parties allow you to opt out of their targeted advertising cookies. You can opt out of many third-party ad networks, including those operated by members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”), and in Europe, the European Interaction Digital Advertising Alliance (“EIDAA”). For more information about this practice by NAI and DAA members, as well as your choices regarding their use of information, including the ability to opt out of third-party ad networks operated by NAI, DAA, and EIDAA members, please visit their respective websites: https://thenai.org/opt-out/ (NAI), www.aboutads.info/choices (DAA), and www.youronlinechoices.com .

This policy is effective as of the effective date set forth above. We may make changes to this Policy from time to time, so please review it periodically. We will post any changes to this Policy on our Site. If we make changes to our Policy that materially affect our practices with respect to previously collected personal information, we will attempt to notify you in advance by highlighting such changes on our Site or by contacting you at the email address on file.
